The only constant in life is change. Even though in the 2011 term we are planning to make a lot of changes to the Panhellenic Association at The Ohio State University ranging from the governing documents, to positions to the council philanthropy and how the council interacts and how we work as 4 councils there will still be changes to be made. What I see as necessary you may not see as necessary. As I am learning now you may look at what those before you did and say to yourself what were they thinking??
On that note though the change will be necessary it will not be easy. My dad started telling me when I was little that I would be able to accomplish anything I wanted as long as I was willing to put in all the necessary hard work to get there. All the changes we want to make to our community require a lot of hard work. Not even a quarter in I have already made great sacrifices for my position because of what I want to see changed. People may not understand why you are doing what you are for your position, except for your exec board and other council execs. The friendships that I have already made in my own exec and across the councils helps me when I hit a wall, whether it be in a particular bylaw I want to see changed or suddenly our budget is destroyed with overdue bills.
This song always gets me through tough times and is my favorite song ever. When I was outgoing President of my sorority and thought I was transferring this is the song my sorority sang to me because I made them listen to it whenever they were feeling down, this song is the song that is my anthem. My first blog about me included this song as well and I want to finish my blog with this song as well. Always Dream Big, because your dreams may come true. And remember to laugh and have fun in life because you only get one life to live. And when time are tough, know that they will get better. Be the change you wish to see and good luck!
